Eldon Sales and Marketing Meeting in Hamburg

On December 1st and 2nd the complete Eldon Sales and Marketing team met in Hamburg. The Eldon Sales and Marketing team is formed by:
  • Six Sales and Marketing Managers,
  • Five Product Managers,
  • One Marketing Communication Manager, and
  • The Sales and Marketing Director.

The meeting had two main objectives:
 
   1) to get to know and to learn about each other experiences and
   2) receive training on thermal management products. Both objectives were achieved.
 
During the first day everyone made a presentation. In the case of the Sales and Marketing Managers the presentation was about local markets and Eldon activities in each market. Product Managers presented new developments, sales arguments, plans and tools. Marketing Communication presented a proposal of how to improve internal and external information flows.
Among all the good things that were presented we can highlight a few:
  • We learnt that growing the turnover is possible even after cutting low margin or even loss making business, 
  • We heard about the importance of our back – offices and that most contacts with customer are made here, 
  • We understood that often it is smarter to pick one competitor to target instead of two or more,
  •  We saw the convenience of shifting business to distributors, we listened to how the new software has made all our operations more transparent, 
  • We listened to the potential of growing our business with existing customers before going out to find new ones, 
  • We understood the importance of sales arguments and tools, 
  • We were invited to use Eldon training capabilities and finally, 
  • We were presented interesting proposals of how to improve the communication flow between marketing and sales and out to the market.
The second day all Product Managers and all Sales and Marketing managers participated at the thermal management training given by Pieter Dekker, Product Manager for Floor – Standing enclosures and thermal management products. We improved our skills in selecting thermal management products that will allow us to increase our market share in this very important business, which combines so strongly with the enclosure business.
 
At the end of these two full but interesting two days, everyone went back home with a better understanding of each other’s markets, Eldon and a reinforced team spirit!
