John Godden LTD Named EEL Distributor of the Year
It was announced at the Distributor Conference in February 2005, by EEL, that John Godden LTD of Stoke-on-Trent had won “Distributor of the Year 2005.”
One of eight regional finalists, John Godden eventually won the overall title by a unanimous decision of the external sales team.
The decisioning process was structured so that each Area Sales Manager could put forward a case as to why their regional winner deserved the award. After a process of elimination, the vote eventually went to John Godden.
Apart from the obvious of goal of sales growth, the overall winner needed to meet a series of additional criteria, including running a successful business plan, conducting joint calls, using the demo van, training and proactive marketing.
Godden has nearly doubled its Eldon business in the last two years and keeps an impressive amount of stock. The firm has also produced its own catalogue, which heavily features Eldon enclosures.
Andrew Wilson, ASM for The West Midlands, presented the award to Mel Clarke, Branch Manager, John Godden, during a visit to the factory on January 27th. Andrew is also arranging a night out for all of Godden’s staff to celebrate their victory.
Each Regional Finalist was also presented with a plaque — and goodie bags for everyone at the branch.
The award will be offered again this year, and the pressure will be on Godden to maintain their high standard.
